The Recovery of Unused Medical Supplies program (RUMS) by InterVol collects functioning medical equipment and distributes it to areas of need, while protecting the environment through waste reduction. The program began in 1989 in founder Dr. Ralph Pennino’s garage but is now housed in a Rochester, NY warehouse, is endorsed by the American Medical Association and actively recycles 4 tons of supplies every week to over 75 hospitals and clinics worldwide. Click on “Collections” tab to see which supplies are in need now and get information on the donation process.
