Keep mattresses out of the landfill

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY OF LANE COUNTY

St. Vincent de Paul‘s mattress recycling program cuts open and separates mattresses and box springs into various components, including cotton, foam, wood and steel. These materials are baled and shipped out for recycling. This program is located in California and Oregon creates entry-level jobs in the community, diverting millions of pounds of material from landfills every year.  If you live elsewhere, check with Earth911 for local resources.
