Recycle Wireless Phones

Cell phone recycling is easier than ever with manufacturers, retailers, and charities all working together to keep cell phones out of the landfill.

According to the EPA:

Recycling one million cell phones saves enough energy to power more than 185 US households with electricity for a year.

The EPA has partnered with electronic manufacturers and retailers to provide opportunities for you to donate or recycle your phones, computers, and televisions through the Plug In to e-Cycling program. Their website has links to major retailers with drop-off and collection event information:

Recycling for Charities is a Non-Profit organization with the goal of ridding the environment of e-waste by recycling wireless products. Each item received is recycled properly and a value donation is given to the charity of the donor’s choice.

There are many, many charities to choose from.

Recycle Wireless Phones has a huge list of their members’ consumer recycling programs. There are even listings for obscure brands and models.
