In some localities, aluminum license plates can be added to your curbside recycling bin. Before recycling a license plate, cut it in half or remove one of the corners using tin snips or by bending the metal back and forth until it breaks. Also deface, destroy or remove the month and year stickers to prevent theft or fraud.
RECYCLE NATION
Recycle Nation has 3 resources for recycling license plates as scrap metal and details for returning them to DMV as well as craft ideas for turning plates into art.
